I’ve previously posted some doubt about USADA’s case against Lance. That was before reading their written ruling. I read it, in its entirety, last night. If you have doubt, I’d encourage you to do so as well. Scores of witnesses with personal knowledge and personal observation of illegal, unethical conduct.
I retract any previous doubt. The jig is up. I’m disappointed to see so many great cyclists admit to cheating, and don’t have much else to say about it. There is no double standard. Doping is cheating just as much as riding up the hill hanging on to the team car would be. It doesn’t matter if everyone else was doing it. It doesn’t matter if it was commonplace. Yesterday was a black day for American cycling.
